Marc Saab, MD DRCPSC FASRS Retina Specialist
Dr. Marc Saab is a retina specialist and founding partner of Retina MD in Sainte-Catherine, Quebec. He has been practicing as a Surgical and Medical Retina Specialist at Charles-LeMoyne Hospital, affiliated with the University of Sherbrooke, since 2017, and previously served as Chief of Ophthalmology at both Charles-LeMoyne Hospital and CISSS Bas-Saint-Laurent.
Dr. Saab completed a Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship at the University of Montreal, where he was the Chief Fellow, and a Glaucoma Fellowship at the Glaucoma Institute of St-Joseph Hospital in Paris. His extensive educational background includes a Diploma in Ophthalmology from Saint-Joseph University in Beirut, along with specialized training in microsurgery and glaucoma.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Saab has contributed to research as Principal Investigator in numerous studies, including the XTEND study on wet AMD. He has also presented at major conferences and published his work in respected journals. A dedicated educator, he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Sherbrooke and has held teaching positions at the Universities of Montreal and Laval.
Dr. Saab is a Fellow of the American Society of Retina Specialists and is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Canadian Retina Society and the Canadian Ophthalmology Society. His expertise in retina surgery and commitment to advancing ophthalmic care have made him a respected figure in his field.
Brett Kenneth Williams

Brett Kenneth Williams, MD FRCSC Retina Specialist
Dr. Williams was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Recruited by the College of William and Mary’s Tennis team, he was awarded an NCAA athletic scholarship to support his Undergraduate Degree in Chemistry. From there Dr. Williams completed his medical degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland & Labrador. He then completed his Ophthalmology Residency and Medical Retina Fellowship at Queen’s University.
Upon the successful completion of his Retina Fellowship, Dr. Williams returned to his hometown of St. John’s, Newfoundland where he worked for 15 years and held an appointment of Clinical Associate Professor with Memorial University.
In 2022, Dr. Williams relocated with his family to Duncan, British Columbia, where he currently practices Medical Retina and Comprehensive Ophthalmology. He has an appointment as Clinical Instructor with University of British Columbia.
In his spare time, Dr. Williams enjoys spending time with family and playing tennis and golf.
He is keen to explore less invasive treatment options for patients affected by retinal disease and is looking forward to working with the MacuMira Team to further develop this technology.
Kevin Parkinson

Kevin M. Parkinson, B.Sc., M.D., F.R.C.S.C.
Kevin is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist practicing in Coquitlam B.C. He was the lead investigator in the Dry Macular Degeneration trial which led to Health Canada approval of the Macumira Device.
He completed his Medical Degree at the University of B.C. after completing a Bachelor of Science (Kinesiology) at Simon Fraser University. After practicing as a family physician for 2 years he completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Western Ontario in 1996 followed by a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Florida.
For the past 27 years he has served his patients in the Vancouver suburban area initially concentrating on cataract and glaucoma medical and surgical treatments. More recently he has transitioned to a more comprehensive practice.
Outside of work, Kevin enjoys road cycling, fitness training and golf as well as travelling with his wife Laurel of 21 years.
He is on the medical board of Macumira and continues to assist with the introduction of this groundbreaking therapy to the optometrists and ophthalmologists of Canada and beyond.
Trevor Miranda

Trevor Miranda, OD Optometrist
Dr. Miranda was raised in Simcoe, Ontario, and graduated from the University of Waterloo with his Doctorate of Optometry in 1995. Following graduation, he moved to beautiful Vancouver Island, where he continues to serve the eye care needs of the Cowichan Valley. Trevor is also an active member of the Third World Eye Care Society and has participated with other professionals to improve the vision of the less fortunate.
Dr. Miranda was named Optometrist of the Year by the British Columbia Association of Optometrists in March 2015. This prestigious honour recognized Dr. Miranda’s commitment to providing every patient with exceptional care while mentoring optometrists across Canada.
Outside the office, Dr. Miranda enjoys hockey, coaching soccer, being involved with the South Cowichan Rotary Club, and spending time with his wife Cheryl and their 3 children. He looks forward to continuing to care for the eyes of the Cowichan Valley and welcomes new patients without a referral.
